SCRAPBOOK STAMPING TIPS BY IMAGINE STAMPS

Scrapbook Stamping Tips and Tricks

  • A very important tip! Stamping on hard surfaces sometimes causes loss of detail and lines, so....USE A SOFT SURFACE! If your art is coming out with lost lines or details, try stamping on a magazine or a few sheets of paper.
  • Sometimes stamps require 'priming'. Just ink them up and use on a scrap piece of paper several times to get the ink evenly distributed.
  • A good tip to prime a clear acrylic stamp is to use an eraser to rub over the surface. This will get the scrapbook stamp ready for inking.
  • If the scrapbook stamp is starting to lose its stickiness, you can wash it with a little soap and water and it will be as good as new.

  • If you have a solid stamp where the ink is not being applied evenly, try stamping on something squishy like a mouse pad. It will help distribute the ink.

  • Clear acrylic stamps tend to stain easier. But remember, as long as they are properly cleaned, staining will not show up on any future projects.

  • A usefull tip is to work on top of fun foam, mouse pad, or magazine for a crisper image.

  • Yes, you can use paint on clear acrylic stamps.

  • A good tip for storage is you can store your scrapbook stamps in many different ways. CD cases, binders, in original packaging, or any other creative way.
